Umbro Shirts That Never Were - Prototype Umbro Kits

Umbro shirts that were never worn
We've managed to get a delivery of classic 80s Umbro kits that were never worn by the clubs. The shirts were overlooked for different designs but we think some of them are actaully better than the chosen designs. It got us thinking if Vintage shirt fans out there had any in their collections and if they knew of any other kits that never were.

Rangers Umbro Prototype
After posting this initial tweet of a great Ajax and Rangers shirt they got a lot of attention, espeically the Rangers kit that was never used in the late 80s. It's a design that we've never seen used by Umbro and therefore is a real collectors item.
Ajax Umbro Prototype
Were were really excited when we found these Ajax shirts that were prototypes for the late 80s but were rejected by the club. The away kit is the same design as a famous Luton Town shirt.

Ipswich Umbro Prototype
This is so good! The Iposwich late 80s Umbro prototype kit never worn by the club but should have been. It's such a great design but ultimately lost out.

Best of the Rest
Here's some of the other Umbro kits we managed to pick up. A Manchester City shirt that was actaully selected as the away kit but with a different collar and Umbro logo, a Watford kit that was used as Scotland's away kit, a red Derby kit which wouldn't have gone down too well with the fans due to their rivallry with Nottingham Forest and a great Dunfermline kit.
