Classic and Retro Premier League Clubs Football Shirts

Re-branded in 1992, the Premier League is often described as the best league in the world. Judging by the last 25 years or so you can see why.

With some of the greatest and most well supported teams in the world such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool it's hard to argue against the top flight of English football.

Following the large takeover of broadcast rights from Sky, the Premier League became the most widely available division across the globe and now the best teams, players and of course football shirts were there for all to see 24/7.

Over the years it has boasted some of the best moments in football with great goals and matches leaving you on the edge of your seat be it in the ground or from the comfort of your own living room.

Some brilliant examples come in the form of Manchester City's first Premier League title win, in the last seconds as the Citizens came from 2-1 down against QPR to win it in the most dramatic fashion, Agueroooo anyone?

Their city counterparts Manchester United once dominated the division under Sir Alex Ferguson with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic partcularly shining in the latter years. But from Mark Hughes, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Ruud van Nistelrooy and the like to today's multi-million pound signings the Red Devils have been a constant power house.

There have been some brilliant goals straight from the off with the likes of Tony Yeboah, Alan Shearer, Paulo Di Canio and Ronaldo all featuring regularly in top ten lists.

Only one side to date have had the perfect season, the Invincibles of Arsenal. In the classic red home shirts with white sleeve and O2 logo, they didn't lose a game in 2003/2004 with Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Ashley Cole, Sol Campbell and others sweeping teams aside under Arsene Wenger.

Some of the greatest shirts have come from this era such as the aforementioned Arsenal O2 strip. Manchester United have always been under the shirt spotlight. Famously sponosred by Sharp they moved on to Vodafone before AIG and A-ON. Now with Chevrolet there is always a big money sponsorship at Old Trafford.

Liverpool began life in the Premier League with the iconic Candy before smashing themselves into the top four under their infamous Carlsburg shirts.

Newcastle is certainly a town who love their beer, and McKewen's lager was their first EPL sponsor before their very own Newcastle Brown Ale. They moved on in the early 2000's where they took on ntl before Northern Rock. The financial crisis also affected football shirts as the bank soon ceased trading and the Toon had to find new sponsors.

We love the Premier League here at Vintagefootballshirts.com and have a superb collection from 1992 up to present day, we hope you love them as much as we do!
