Blackout collection released to rememmebr when Brazilian football icon Carlos Alberto Torres landed in New York on July 13, 1977, he was there to join the New York Cosmos and link back up with his longtime teammate, Pelé. He couldn't have predicted the literal "lights out" welcome he was about to receive. At 8:53 PM that same night, a massive electrical failure plunged the entire city into darkness. While the blackout is often defined by the chaos that followed, it also served as an unexpected catalyst for the birth of Hip-Hop. As street parties ignited across the five boroughs, the lack of power didn’t stop the music; instead, it fueled a surge of new beats and sounds, providing the spark for a cultural movement that would eventually change the world.
