During the season Miroslav Klose made 47 appearances for Werder Bremen, scoring 15 goals, in what was his final season for Werder Bremen before joining Bayern Munich as he helped Werder Bremen to a 3rd place finish in the Bundesliga and the semi finals of the UEFA Cup where they lost 5-1 on aggregate against Espanyol.
