Details - Away shirt as worn when the club was bought by American Terry Smith, who took over as manager after Kevin Ratcliffe resigned a month later. Smith won just 4 league games in as many months and replaced himself with Ian Atkins. However, Atkins was unable to preserve their Football League status and they were relegated by goal difference at the end of the season.
