The season ended in disappointment for Los Blancos however with Real picking no silverware in a season for the first time since 2009-10 after finsihing 2 points behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga. The season also saw Real Madrid knocked out in the semi finals of the Champions League after losing 3-1 on aggregate against Chelsea with Zidane leaving his role as manager at the end of the season.
