Also worn when West Ham finished as one of the winners of the Intertoto Cup after beating Metz 3-2 on aggregate in the finals, meaning they would compete in the UEFA Cup where they were knocked out in the second round, losing 2-0 on aggregate against Steaua Bucuresti.
